Dr. Amponsah is a fisheries scientist with a PhD in Fisheries Science and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana. He teaches fisheries-related topics while actively engaging in community service and consultancy at local, national, and international levels. His work spans fisheries impact assessments, fish stock evaluations, food safety research, and social studies among fisherfolk communities. He has also contributed to technology and infrastructure development, including fish smoking kilns and a Grade A fish processing facility in Ghana. With over 60 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Amponsah bridges science, teaching, and community engagement to advance sustainable fisheries, food security, and gender equity.
